Heavy-Duty Manual Comb Binding System (Item# AAB-CM)

Following the great success of our Akiles MegaBind (which has a 14" punch length for Legal size sheets), the new AlphaBind offers a 12" punch length and a more attractive cost. An ideal comb binding system for those who work mainly with Letter-size (8.5 x 11) sheets.

AlphaBind-CM Assembly Instructions

1. Place your new AlphaBind on top of a sturdy work table.
2. Attach the punching handle:
   1. Slide the Punching Handle and screw on to the punching axle
   2. Tighten the screw
3. Attach Comb Opener Handle

General Safety Guidelines

1. Contact your dealer in case of malfunction or for after sale service. Never try to repair the unit yourself. The AlphaBind does not contain any part that can be serviced by the operator.
2. Empty waste bin regularly.
3. Lubricate punching dies as needed.
4. Never attempt to punch more than maximum number of sheets recommended. Doing so may cause severe damage to the equipment and fatigue to the operator.

AlphaBind-CM Punching Procedure

1. Align the Side Margin Control to the correct position according to the sheet or cover size. Note: Use ruler guide for proper alignment.
2. Push-in and rotate Depth margin Control to the desired position.
   1. Recommended depth margin per comb size:
      1. Position 1: Small size comb (3/16" to 1/2")
      2. Position 2: Mid size comb (7/16 to 7/8")
      3. Position 3: Mid size comb (2/4" to 1")
      4. Position 4: Large size comb (1-1/8 to 2")
3. Pull out Disengagement Pins to avoid partially perforated holes.
4. Insert Sheet into the Punch Throat.
5. Activate the punching action by pulling the handle down.
6. Repeat steps 5 & 6 until all sheets have been punched.

AlphaBind Binding Instructions

1. Place pre-selected comb behind Comb Opener Fingers. (Comb opening side should be upward).
2. Gently rotate Comb Opener Handle clockwise to open comb. 
3. Align and insert punched pages onto comb fingers.
4. Gently rotate comb Opener Handle counter-clockwise to close comb.
5. Lift the bound document upward, and remove it from Comb Opener Fingers.
